Our Story

The Baking Hive is located in the heart of East Millcreek (3362 South 2300 East, SLC UT 84106) and is owned and operated by Utah-Local and Head Chef, Elisa Barber.

 After attending culinary school in Ireland, chefing in famed London Michelin Star restaurant and top London bakery, Elisa decided to return to her cherished home city bringing back with her all her favorite culinary delights (Sticky Toffee Pudding, Pavlova, Victoria Sponge) to share with her beloved community.

All cakes and treats are made with high quality, local ingredients and of course a massive dash of love. Here at the Baking Hive taste, texture and quality come first. Thus all our cakes, cookies and sweets are made with real butter, real cream and lots of them. Each recipe is handcrafted and selected to bring you the ultimate culinary enjoyment and to take you to your indulgent, happy place. 

Besides providing the most delicious cakes and baked goods to the Salt Lake Valley, The Baking Hive desires to instill the love of baking in the heart of every adult and child. The Baking Hive offers a one of a kind, hands-on bakery experience that can be enjoyed by all ages: from our Decorating Hive (where kids can drop in to ice, top, and decorate their own cupcakes and cookies), to our Kids’ Baking Classes, to our Baking Birthday Parties, to our Adult Baking Classes.
